My name is Celeste Teal Larkin, and I came into storytelling through the archway of music and theater. Throughout middle and high school, I immersed myself in musical theatre, orchestra, and choir. That love of performance eventually led me to study classical singing and opera at Utah Tech University and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

I’ve always loved stories in every form, but I truly discovered the grand tradition of oral storytelling in 2022, when I was invited to share a tale at the Red Stone Highland Games. I didn’t tell it from memory, but I was hooked. Listening to the other storytellers, whose memorized performances echoed the ancient bards and troubadours I learned about in my music history courses, lit a spark in me.

After completing two summer training sessions in Waldorf education, I became especially fascinated with storytelling for young children. Creating an atmosphere of magic through voice and imagination felt natural and joyful—especially after becoming a mother myself.

Since 2024, I’ve been a proud member of the Utah Storytelling Guild and regularly perform at the Red Stone Highland Games in St. George. I love sharing stories whenever I can, for children and adults alike. Outside of storytelling, I enjoy gardening, spending time outdoors, and cooking delicious meals for my family.
